Posting Summary:
The Office of Human Resources at Teachers College, Columbia University is seeking a talented HRIS Coordinator to join our team. The HRIS Coordinator will be responsible for the administration of all employee transactions ensuring the accurate processing of Payroll.

Job Summary/Basic Function:
The HRIS Coordinator will focus primarily on the administration of all employee transactions ensuring the accurate processing of Payroll. Additionally, this position serves as a point-of-contact for all Human Resource Management System (HRMS) transactional inquiries. The HRIS Coordinator will also assist with regression testing for HRMS upgrades and other projects as assigned. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

Processing/Data Entry

  • Input, analyze and process all types of employee transactions ensuring timely and accurate information in the HRMS, and ensure data integrity through reports, audits and data flow analysis
  • Serve as liaison with HR Services, Budget, Payroll, Finance and other teams on HRIS-related matters to ensure the accuracy of payroll

Reports/Queries

  • Help maintain data integrity in systems through audits, queries and analysis
  • Assist with regulatory reporting.

Employees personal file

  • Upload supporting documents to employee personal file using digital file cabinet and perform maintenance on a regular basis
  • Update employee information

Documentation & Training

  • Participate In HRIS-related projects and assists in the development of documentation of processes and procedures.
    System Maintenance
  • Assist in the review, testing and implementation of HRMS system upgrades or patches.

Other Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years HRIS analytical experience
  • HRIS, Payroll, or HR data entry experience and office experience
  • Skilled in performing accurate data entry
  • Advanced MS Office skills especially in Excel (formulas, VLookUps, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, meet strict deadlines and dedication to data integrity
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage highly confidential data

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with an HRMS such as Banner HR is desired
  • Previous exposure to employee transaction processing in the Human Resource area
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources/psychology/business admin
  • Knowledge of Google Applications
