Posting Summary:
The Department of Biobehavioral Sciences at Teachers College, Columbia University is seeking applications for a full time Clinical Supervisor for the Program in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD).
Reporting to the Clinic Director, the Clinical Supervisor in Speech Language Pathology assumes direct responsibility for supervising graduate student clinicians by providing services to clients and patients through the CSD Program and in particular, the Edward D. Mysak Speech and Hearing Center.

Job Summary/Basic Function:
The incumbent will work with academic faculty to develop novel clinical programming to provide unique, cutting-edge clinical experiences for our graduate students. Some administrative responsibilities and/or teaching may be required depending on the applicant’s past experience. The incumbent will also be required to perform additional duties that may be assigned.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Supervisor
● Provide direct supervision to our graduate clinicians in the program.
● Responsible for assessing graduate clinicians on their clinical practice and providing direct supervision and clinical decision making
   for all aspects of client care.
● Play an integral role in the clinical training of CSD Master’s students.
● Assist students with coordinating and integrating clinical aspects of classroom instruction in order to foster the development of clinical
   skills and decision making.

Participate in Program and Clinic Meetings
● Attends regular program meetings and attends weekly clinical staff meetings and other administrative meetings as required

Minimum Qualifications:
● Master’s degree is Speech Language Pathology, ASHA-Certified
● At least 5-years of clinical experience post Clinical Fellowship (CF), with a minimum of two years supervising speech-language pathology graduate students in an academic or clinical setting
● At least 5-years clinical experience in the provision of Medical Speech-Language Pathology services, specifically speech, language, and swallowing assessment and treatment of adults
● Eligible for NY state license and licensed by starting date
● Must meet ASHA requirements for supervision (2 hours of Continuing education units -CEU)
● Strong writing and organizational skills.
● Ability to demonstrate knowledge of and to utilize theories, principles, practices, techniques and methods of Speech Therapy including program evaluation.
● Must be able to collaborate with others to plan or provide treatment

Preferred Qualifications:
● Specialized knowledge related to documentation and assessment of student performance (ASHA knowledge and skills).
● Experience with instrumental evaluations of feeding/swallowing (e.g., Fiberoptic Endoscopic ● Evaluation of Swallowing)
● Experience in a medical speech-language pathology setting
● Specialization in treating adult language, motor speech, feeding/swallowing, and voice disorders preferred
● Research Experience
● Fluent in a language or languages other than English

Salary Range:

$93,000-$93,000
