Posting Summary:
The Office of Residential Services is seeking multiple Summer Conference Housing (SCH) Interns for summer 2025. Hours will be scheduled with consultation of supervisor between 9am - 5pm Monday - Thursday and 9am - 1pm on Friday. Evening and weekend on-call hours are also required.
Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Office of Residential Services is seeking Summer Conference Interns, who must be enrolled in at least 1 credit during 2025. The Interns will provide support on general tasks in support of various departmental functions and projects. This position requires a commitment of a minimum of 15 hours/week.
Position Duties/Responsibilities:

Conference Operations
- Manage registration materials for SCH guest arrival. This includes keys, swipe cards, check-in packets, and important information.
- Complete key inventories as required, ensuring that all keys are accounted for at all times.
- Maintain and/or enter data into various SCH databases and spreadsheets.
- Assist with conference guest check-ins and -outs.
- Assemble guest housing linen packets and room amenities
- Assist with preparing linens and making beds prior to check-in.
- Assist with linen room inventory, to include restocking and recording product deliveries and inventory totals.
- Attend bi-weekly staff meetings to ensure conference operations are working smoothly.
- Conduct pre-check-in room and post-check-out room inspection.
- Work collaboratively with custodial staff to manage on-time check-outs and preparation of rooms.
- Respond to guest questions and provide guest appropriate resources to navigate his/her stay.

On Duty Coverage
- Participate in an on-call duty system, (after 5:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday, after 1pm on Friday, twenty-four hours on the weekend, and whenever the central office is closed). Must be able to respond in person on campus within 5 minutes during the days you are scheduled on duty. Duty will be split amongst the SCH staff.
- While on duty, respond to and assess incidents, making the appropriate interventions. Incidents may include:
- Resolving reservation questions, issues etc.
- Providing guests with additional complimentary items
- Responding to maintenance concerns
- Complete all forms and paperwork for incidents in a timely fashion, and report emergency maintenance concerns to the facilities staff via Public Safety, and non-emergency maintenance concerns to the facilities staff
- Refer concerns and emergencies to the appropriate staff

General Residential Services
- Complete deliveries for ORS staff.
- Maintain constant communication with the ORS management team through email and phone.
- Staff the ORS front desk, as necessary. This includes assisting residents and visitors, answering telephones, etc.
- Conduct tours for prospective residents.
- Assist with mailroom operations by logging package delivery and dispersing packages to students.
- Escort contractors or other staff members to residence hall rooms as needed
- Serve as a liaison between guests and residents and the Office of Residential Services.
*This position is not eligible for tuition credits.

Scheduling
Student work schedules are based upon the needs of the department and the student’s academic schedule. Students should discuss their schedule with the hiring manager/supervisor during the interview process. Hiring managers/supervisors will make every attempt to accommodate students’ needs.
Work Limitations
Interim Student (IS) may hold other non-exempt positions (i.e. FWS, CA, AF) and must not exceed the maximum total allowable 27 hours per week. IS cannot hold a TA or RA position simultaneously with their IS position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Work the entire summer from May through August 19
- Live in TC housing for the duration of the position (provided as remuneration)
- Current TC student or expected graduation from TC in 2025
- Work independently and collaboratively
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Self-starter who demonstrates initiative
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a related field such as Residence Life, Conference Housing, Hospitality, Student Life, or related campus organization leadership.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with housing software such as StarRez
- Student currently living in TC housing
