The individual will contribute to teaching, advising, and general program administration.

Job Summary/Basic Function:
Teachers College, Columbia University seeks a lecturer with recent relevant experience to join the core faculty in the Online School Counseling Ed.M. program in the Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology. The individual will contribute to teaching, advising, and general program administration.

The successful candidate will teach graduate-level courses, advise graduate students, and work closely with program faculty and staff on matters related to program coordination and administration such as admissions, program review etc. The candidate would be required to attend in-person biweekly program meetings.

Rank: Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, depending on experience and qualifications; Non-Tenure Track.

Term of Appointment: One year with the possibility of renewal

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teach graduate-level courses
• Advise graduate students
• Work closely with program faculty and staff on matters related to program coordination and administration such as admissions, program review etc.
• Attend in-person biweekly program meetings

Minimum Qualifications:
● Candidate should have an earned doctorate in counseling/clinical psychology/counselor education, and be a permanently certified school counselor.
● Excellence in counseling in educational settings.
● Experience teaching in higher education (preferable in an online format) with a demonstrated commitment to online teaching innovation and excellence.
● Knowledge and experience working with the ASCA National Model, researched based best practices for school counselors, and the NY State School Counselor Regulations.
● Evidence of student advisement experience.
● Candidate must be able to teach core masters level school counseling courses online, such as: Ethics for School Counselors, Foundational Skills for School Counselors, Group Skills for School Counselors, Multicultural Counseling, Career Counseling, Evaluation Methods, etc.
● Demonstration of a strong professional identity as a counselor educator.
● Commitment to social justice and multiculturalism

Preferred Qualifications:

Salary Range:

$68,000-$73,000
