Job Summary/Basic Function

Join Teachers College, Columbia University, as a Project Manager in the Education Leadership Data Analytics (ELDA) research group led by Professor Alex J. Bowers. You will play a crucial role in managing a diverse portfolio of projects within a two-year $2 million externally funded initiative, focusing on bridging education and data science to empower large urban school districts in their equity data use. This role involves overseeing equity indicator data visualization and informing community-focused improvement efforts.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a project portfolio within a $2 million externally funded initiative.
  • Coordinate and facilitate access to equity indicator data for large urban school districts.
  • Utilize project management software for effective project tracking.
  • Oversee budget management and financial planning for the project portfolio.
  • Plan and coordinate research group travel, events, and networking activities across a team of 5 to 10 graduate student researchers.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including Teachers College departments, partner school districts, and funders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in education, business, or data science-related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Strong organizational and budget management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs.
  • Strong organizational skills, a strong work ethic, and an ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in externally funded projects.
  • Proficient in project management software, concepts, and tools.
  • Familiarity with data science concepts and tools.
  • Demonstrated experience and familiarity with United States K-12 schooling research.
  • Experience leading and motivating teams, especially in an academic setting.

Salary Range:

$68,800 - $80,000
