Posting Summary:
The Department of Arts & Humanities, Teachers College, Columbia University, seeks a Part Time Program Associate to assist the Program Director with the management of the TESOL Certificate and Language Program Management Certificate Programs.

Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Program Associate works closely with the Department of Arts & Humanities to support the Program Director, the Program Manager, the Doctoral Fellows, as well as teachers, mentors, and students in our non-credit language programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum requirements:
BA required;
Minimum one year of administrative experience;
Experience with student admissions in university or language programs;
Sensitivity to confidentiality of student and faculty records;
Good time management skills and ability to organize, plan, and prioritize on own initiative including when under pressure and meeting deadlines;
Ability to work flexibly and enthusiastically as part of a team;
Ability to communicate needs and priorities to senior staff appropriately;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders in a highly collaborative cross-functional team environment;
Understanding of and ability to use and learn technologies, systems, and tools common in higher education (MS Office; Google Suite; content management systems; LMS, etc.)
Occasional evening and weekend work is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred requirements:
MA in related field.
One to three years of management experience;
Experience in higher education;
Experience supervising staff and/or students;
Proficiency in foreign language and significant experience with international (non-native English speaking) clientele highly desirable.
