Posting Summary:
The Transformative Learning Technologies Lab at Teachers College, Columbia University, is seeking a part-time STEM Program Manager to support an educational makerspace and a research lab, as well as many of its educational and outreach programs. The Manager will oversee day-to-day lab operations; support teaching and learning activities, coordinate events and workshops, and ensure effective use of digital fabrication tools. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on technical skills, experience with digital fabrication and prototyping technologies, and excellent organizational abilities. The Program Manager should have a passion for supporting students, faculty, and visitors in a collaborative learning environment. The position is mostly on-site with some hybrid flexibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise with digital fabrication tools and associated technologies, including at least some of the following: 3D printing, 3D design, laser cutting, microcontrollers/physical computing, electronics, computer programming, and AI tools for design.
  • Experience supporting or teaching others in a makerspace, lab, or similar environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced academic setting.
  • Work outside of standard business hours is occasionally required.
  • May travel internationally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in an academic makerspace or research lab.
  • Experience training users on digital fabrication equipment.
  • Familiarity with educational technology or design-based learning environments.

Salary Range:

  • $37/hour.

Work Modality:

  • On-site, with hybrid flexibility.
