The Center for Professional Education of Teachers (CPET; tc.edu/cpet) is seeking a full-time Lead Professional Development Advisor.

Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Center for Professional Education of Teachers (CPET; tc.edu/cpet) is seeking a full-time Lead Professional Development Advisor. Reporting to the Center Director, the incumbent will be responsible for the establishment and implementation of professional development plans with schools and coaches.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Professional development coaching:

  • Independently manage schedule & communicate with partner schools; establishing
    professional development (PD) plans with schools & coaches
  •  Plan & implement professional development coaching & workshops
  • Prepare monthly project documentation
  • Engage in purposeful planning for professional development (PD)
  • Document & archive professional development (PD) services
  • Participate in the CPET coaching community and monthly coaches’ meetings, utilizing CPET resources, and maintaining consistent communication with partner schools.

Center contributions:

  • Participate in CPET's Core Team
  • Engage in critical reflection and community-building activities to increase collaboration
    and professional effectiveness
  • Manage internal communication, systems, and structures established within the Center.
  • Serve as a member of CPET's coaching leadership team.
  • Collaborate with coaching leaders to design and facilitate professional development
    meetings for CPET coaches.
  • Develop a project that supports the cultivation of the Center's core principles

Leading & mentoring:

  •  Mentor professional development (PD) Coaches, Lead PD Coaches, and Senior PD Coaches
  • Act as small group reflection leader at coaches meetings
  • Co-plan or collaborate on professional development (PD) workshops, conferences, and on-site coaching.
  • Support coaches through critical inquiry, office hours, and the development of digital coaching content
  • Coordinate projects with multiple coaches to organize coaching schedules, documentation, and ensure alignment with project goals
  • Develop original professional development (PD) content, materials, and resources to share within the coaching community
  • Write, record, or capture reflective articles for CPET's website
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MA in Education or related field
  • 5+ years teaching experience
  • 3+ years professional development (PD) experience
  • Experience in NYC public schools
  • Proficient in communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Experience leading a team responsible for critical deliverables

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EdD or PhD in Education or related field
  • 5-7 years professional development (PD) experience
  • Professional experience as an educator in New York City, nationally and internationally
  • Experience in management or mentoring

Salary Range:

$74,000 - $76,000

Work Modality:

Hybrid

The salary range reflects the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting.  Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

Hybrid/Remote

Depending on role and business needs, colleagues will either work onsite or in a hybrid model (a combination of in-office and virtual days). Employees are expected to live within a 150-mile radius of the College.
