Job Summary/Basic Function:
Teachers College Information Technology (TCIT) is seeking a Data Analyst/Steward to play a key role in advancing the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) strategy. They would serve as a liaison between business and IT while supporting the EDM team with the Data Cookbook tool, data governance, data quality, and stewardship initiatives. They would also contribute to the modernization of data analytics by researching emerging technologies and AI capabilities and support the data initiatives in partnership with the Human Resources Information Systems Team.

Through these efforts, they would strengthen technical collaboration across the College and ensure Enterprise Data Management initiatives support TCIT's strategic goal of leveraging trusted data for informed decision-making.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Cataloging & Enterprise Definitions

  • Document data systems, sources, and reports in the enterprise data catalog.
  • Capture metadata such as definitions, formats, usage, and sensitivity (e.g., PII).
  • Engage with business stakeholders to gather and validate data definitions.
  • Partner with IT teams to understand source systems and data flows.
  • Contribute to data stewardship and data quality practices for HRIS.

Data Governance

  • Prepare the agenda for Data Governance Committee meetings.
  • Document meeting minutes for Data Governance meetings, including action items and follow-up correspondence.

Data Architecture

  • Research on data warehousing technologies and corresponding architectures.
  • Develop technical use-cases based on business requirements for Data Warehouse.

Data Literacy

  • Curate and assist in creating curriculum for data literacy initiatives at the College.
  • Co-develop learning courses as per data literacy curriculum.

AI & Emerging Technologies

  • Research into AI and other Emerging Technologies that can be ethically leveraged to accelerate our institutional strategy.
  • Contribute to AI Guidelines and Policies at the College.

Technical Administration

  • Partner with HRIS to ensure new reporting and analytics needs are well defined.
  • Escalate systemic issues to HRIS and ensure reporting consistency across HR, Finance and other areas to assist in the delivery of trusted workforce analytics including the Human Capital Analytics Report (H-CAR).
  • Partner with HRIS to ensure new reporting and analytics needs are well defined.
  • Upgrade, update and maintain the TCIT Enterprise Data Management Website.
  • Create forms and surveys for data initiatives as seen fit.

Appointment Details
● This is a full-time, permanent role.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data/Information Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Two years of experience in Data Analytics-related roles
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn about data technologies, governance, and analytics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with SQL, reporting, or data visualization and cataloging tools.
  • Exposure to data privacy, governance, or compliance concepts.
  • Prior experience of working at Teachers College or similar educational institutions

Salary Range:

$60,000.00 - $67,790.94

The salary range reflects the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting.  Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

Hybrid/Remote

Employees are expected to live within a 150-mile radius of the College.
