Job Summary/Basic Function:
This 6-week intensive internship offers a "front-row seat" to the world of Cybersecurity. You will support the College Information Security Team in daily monitoring and administrative tasks. This role is designed for students looking to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world security operations.
The Tech Stack (Entry-Level Exposure)
You will receive introductory training and supervised access to:
CrowdStrike: Identifying "What is a virus?" vs. "What is a false positive?"
ServiceNow: Learning how IT teams track and solve problems.
Splunk: Understanding how to search through data.
Google: Managing security settings in a cloud environment.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitoring & Alerting: Assist the team in reviewing daily security alerts in CrowdStrike to identify and flag potential threats
- Ticket Coordination: Learn the lifecycle of a security incident by managing and updating tasks within ServiceNow.
- Basic Log Review: Run pre-built Splunk reports to help the team visualize login activity and system health.
- Access Auditing: Support the "Clean-Up" of Google Workspace accounts to ensure only authorized users have access to sensitive campus data.
- Security Awareness: Help draft a weekly "Security Tip" email or flyer for the student body based on current trends you see in the logs.
- Compliance Mapping: Assist the team in reviewing current college security policies to ensure they align with NIST 800-171 standards (specifically regarding Controlled Unclassified Information)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Student: Current Student in Information/Cyber Security or similar program in school. No prior internship experience required.

- Analytical Mindset: You enjoy solving puzzles and looking for patterns.
