Posting Summary:

The Senior Field Experience Logistics Manager will support the Associate Director specializing in Field Support Services in the management of all field experience logistics. These logistics include processes for student teachers entering placements as well as requirements for New York State teacher certification. This individual will play a key team role within the Office of Teacher Education and will work closely with staff across the office.

Job Summary/Basic Function:

BASIC FUNCTION:

Reporting to the Director of the Office of Teacher Education and working collaboratively with the Associate Director Specializing in Field-based Support Services, the Senior Field Experience Logistics Manager will support the management of all field experience logistics. These logistics include processes for student teachers entering placements as well as requirements for New York State teacher certification. This individual will play a key team role within the Office of Teacher Education and will work closely with staff across the office.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Field Experience Support 
● Implement the clearance process for student teaching and field experiences each semester. Responsibilities include sending informational and reminder emails to students who have not been cleared, collecting and tracking students’ proof of clearance requirements, and issuing clearance letters 
● Ensure that all students enrolled in programs leading to a New York State teaching certification are fingerprinted at both the city and state levels; Responsibilities include entering student information into the NYC DOE PETS system, sending students instructions on their next steps, problem solving if there are glitches in the process, and tracking each student’s fingerprinting status 
● Implement the Record of Hours process for students enrolled in approved teacher education programs at Teachers College. Responsibilities include sending reminder emails regarding the Record of Hours requirement and deadline, processing Record of Hours forms when students submit completed forms to the Office of Teacher Education, and following up with students who have not yet documented their experiences 
● Maintain a database of student teaching placements and teacher education field experience placements each year. Responsibilities include basic data entry, basic manipulation of data (e.g. sorting by last name), and providing simple summaries of student teaching placement data as needed 
● Gather and track survey data from student teaching supervisors and cooperating teachers each year. Maintain a database of student teaching supervisors and cooperating teachers, gather survey data from new participants as well as participants who have not recently been surveyed, and track results. Produce basic summaries of data as needed 
● Manage logistics surrounding the Cooperating Teacher benefits process. Track benefits earned by each Cooperating Teacher, process benefits applications, and issue benefits. Create and send informational and reminder emails regarding Cooperating Teacher benefits 

Programming and Technical Support 
● Manage data related to ed tech tools in use by the teacher education community, including tracking license distribution and sharing usage reports as needed 
● Assist Associate Director with maintenance of Office of Teacher Education and Teacher Education at TC websites and office informational materials 
● Assist the Associate Director with the certification workshop process. These three workshops are required by the New York State Education Department and are offered at TC under the leadership of the Associate Director Specializing in Field-based Support Services. They include; Dignity for All Students Act, Child Abuse Detection and Reporting, and School Violence Prevention and Intervention. This may include helping with the logistics of workshops, corresponding with workshop participants, and creating certificates 
● Support Office of Teacher Education staff with individual pathway questions and responses.

Other duties as needed 

Minimum Qualifications:

● Undergraduate degree
● Strong attention to detail
● Excellent customer service skills
● Excellent computer skills (including spreadsheets and the google suite)
● Excellent written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

● Experience working in a higher education setting

Salary Range:

$65,000 - $70,497
