Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Black Education Research Center (BERC) at Teachers College, Columbia University, invites applications for a Program Manager to join our team. The Program Manager will be responsible for the management of specified components for BERC research-related initiatives at Teachers College, Columbia University. The Program Manager will work closely with various departments within the university to ensure that research needs are met and that the budget and grants management remain aligned with BERC mission and goals.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Internal Operations Management

• Ensure that all expenditures are within the given budget and grant constraints.
• Submitting contracts and purchase orders
• Manage staff onboarding, including hiring, training, and evaluating personnel in the program as needed
• Process expenses and reimbursements
• Schedule room reservations
• Be responsible for travel and lodging arrangements and requests
• Coordinate with various departments and organizations within the university to promote rapport and collaboration

Project Management and Communications

• Manage the BERC calendar
• Manage BERC website, email account, and other external communications
• Manage and track research and community-based projects

Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education, business administration, or a related field is required.
• At least five years of experience in academic program management or a related field
• Demonstrated experience in budget development, management, and office administration

Preferred Qualifications:

• A Master's degree is preferred.
• Previous experience working with TC systems and operations
• Experience with Banner, ChromeRiver, and UniMarket

Salary Range:

$43.95 - $43.95
