Associate HRIS Data and Reporting Analyst

Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Office of Human Resources at Teachers College, Columbia University, is seeking an Associate HRIS Data and Reporting Analyst to support HR analytics and reporting efforts. This role focuses on delivering meaningful insights, building reliable dashboards, and supporting strategic initiatives that enhance HRIS service delivery across the College.

Reporting to the Senior HRIS Data and Reporting Analyst, the Associate HRIS Data and Reporting Analyst will play a key role in transforming HR data into meaningful insights through analysis, reporting, and dashboard development, while maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulatory reporting requirements.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Compliance Reporting and Data Analytics: 
● Manage and fulfill regulatory and compliance reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and data integrity
● Develop and maintain dashboards and metrics to support key stakeholders
● Support reporting initiatives and analytics projects required by TCHR or College leadership
● Collaborate with HR teams to understand business requirements and translate them into meaningful, actionable reports and visualizations
● Analyze HR metrics to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement

Data Audits and Process Improvement: 
● Assist in maintaining data integrity and accuracy through automated data audits
● Analyze and reconcile data inconsistencies across reporting sources
● Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and complete HR data
● Assist with process improvements by identifying gaps, recommending innovative, data-driven solutions, and supporting implementation efforts

System Maintenance/Training & Support:
● Develop and maintain user guides, training materials and procedure documentation to support HR systems and reporting tools
● Assist in testing and validation of HRMS system upgrades and patches
● Assist in resolving end-user issues, inquiries and data requests in a timely and customer-focused manner
● Support ad-hoc reporting as needed

Other duties as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in training or work experience
● 2+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in an HR setting
● Foundational understanding of HR processes and some experience in HRIS systems and HR analytics tools
● Expertise in Microsoft Office with strong proficiency in Excel skills; Google applications is a plus
● Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify issues, support data-informed decision-making, and translate findings into meaningful insights
● Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, consistency, and integrity
● Ability to understand complexities and nuances with reporting using different data sources, and tailor outputs for different audiences, including leadership, HR partners, and non-technical stakeholders
● Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain data and findings to a non-technical audience
● Self-motivated with strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
● Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in an unstructured, deadline-driven environment
● Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
● Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects
● Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience with Banner HR
● Foundational knowledge of Oracle databases and Oracle SQL queries
● Experience working in various analytical and reporting tools – Argos, Tableau, Power BI Experience working in a higher education environment
● Understanding of HR analytics and workforce planning

Salary Range:

62,000 - 65,000

Hybrid/Remote
