Where True Change Begins

Library Specialist for Circulation and Reserves

The Library Specialist for Circulation and Reserves will provide front-line support in reader services (circulation) and back-line support in technical services (course reserves) to meet high demand and coordinate functionality within the library services platform, the College’s learning management system, and additional software. ● Manages the ILS fulfillment module to ensure circulation and course reserves; investigates and tests new platform releases; coordinates circulation-related functions, including searches, recalls, paging, and holds. (20%) ● Receives, reviews, and processes requests for course readings and interlibrary loans, including scanning to standard and remediation to meet accessibility. ( 20%) ● Monitors and helps maintain schedules for interim staff; collaborates on and contributes to the creation, development, implementation, and assessment of both circulation and reserve-related projects and instructional services. (15%) ● Serves as a contact for responding to users regarding fines and billing, including managing lost, billed, and “claims returned” items; participates in instant messaging (chat service, as well as virtual reference service) to address user queries. (15%) ● Serves library users at a consolidated service desk by assisting with directional, circulation, basic reference and technology questions, including referral to an appropriate expert. (15%) ● Co-leads bi-monthly unit meetings; collaborates with library staff to drive circulation initiatives; and participates in university-wide meetings and committees to stay current with policies, projects, and developments. (10%) ● Performs other duties, as assigned. (5%)
