Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Office of Admission at Teachers College is searching for a new cohort of Student Ambassadors! We are looking for outgoing and enthusiastic current students who are excited to talk to prospective and admitted students about their TC experience. Ambassadors would serve as campus leaders, exhibiting a service-oriented attitude, a desire to meet and greet campus visitors, and a willingness to assist campus guests interested in TC. We are aiming to have ambassadors from all 10 academic departments at TC to represent our wide breadth of program offerings.

Hours: 10-13 hours a week on average; up to 20 hours if there’s special programming. While most hours will be fulfilled in person during the 9 am-5 pm business day, there will be opportunities for virtual evening and weekend hours.

Expectations:
-Excellent communication skills: Ability to interact daily and communicate effectively with prospective students, applicants, and admitted students in person, by phone, Zoom, and email.
-Welcome visitors to the Enrollment Management suite
-Lead campus tours (both in-person and virtual)
-Attend and speak at prospective and admitted student events (lead panels, emcee, trivia, etc.)
-Attend mandatory training to become familiar with the programs offered at Teachers College, as well as basic admission information -including application requirements, and deadlines
-Our ideal ambassadors are excited to welcome and support ALL individuals through the application process
-Assist in other administrative projects that support the Office of Admission
-Work with Marketing/Communications as well as TC Generation to generate external content for blogs, emails, and social media posts
-Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with the Admission team
-Be punctual and reliable

Minimum Qualifications:
-Preferred start in Summer 2023 and able to work for the entire 2023-2024 academic year (Fall and Spring) with the option to add -Summer 2024
-Must be a current TC student enrolled in at least 6 credits for the 2023-2024 academic year
-Must be willing to work in person at the admission office (Building 528 - 3rd fl)
-Must sign a confidentiality agreement
