The Department of Mathematics, Science & Technology seeks a work-study student for AY21-22 to help with digital projects on department websites and social media.

Department Overview: 

Areas of study within the Department of Mathematics, Science & Technology include three programs: Mathematics Education, Science Education, and Communication, Media, & Learning Technologies Design (CMLTD). Twenty-two full-time faculty and approximately thirty visiting professors, adjuncts, and instructors teach more than 500 students enrolled in these programs. Department support staff, supervised by the Director of Academic Administration, includes a Department Secretary and three Academic/Program Secretaries.


  • Update the websites of the MST Department and its three programs using T4

  • Update department social media accounts (e.g., Twitter, Instagram, Flickr)

  • Use graphic design software to edit photos and illustrations

  • Upload content

  • Contribute to other department-related digital projects, as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have received a Federal Work Study award for AY 21-22 from TC’s Office of Financial Aid

  • Must be a student matriculated in a TC degree program

  • Experience utilizing Google Suite, photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator), and blog interfaces (e.g., WordPress, Typepad, Blogger)

  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and Javascript

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Detail oriented with excellent organization skills

  • Flexible: Ability to work with conflicting demands

  • Must be taking at least 5 credits (or equivalent, which includes full-time equivalent offerings - HBSK 6480, CCPJ 6480, CCPX 6480, or any 8900 course).
  • Must be able to abide by the Student Confidentiality Agreement

  • Must be able to abide by the Student Privacy Requirements

  • NOTE: Full-time TC employees are not eligible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate-level understanding of HTML/CSS and Javascript preferred

  • Full-stack experience is a plus

Compensation: Up to $6,000.00/year total; 10-15 hours/week

Job Logistics: Hybrid (in-person and remote)
