Posting Summary:
The TC NEXT Administrative Fellow: Employer Events reports to TC NEXT’s Associate Director of Employer Relations (ER) and will provide detailed, thorough, efficient support in planning, coordinating, and executing employer events accessible to Teachers College students and alumni. The TC NEXT Administrative Fellow: Employer Events is responsible for providing administrative support, employer coordination, and event management support throughout the academic year.

This position is designed to provide the candidate with an additional training opportunity to enhance the
skills, competencies, and experiences achieved through their academic preparation, working with the TC NEXT team, employer stakeholders, faculty/staff partners, and TC students and alumni to deliver employer events that connect relevant candidates to interested employers. The TC NEXT Administrative Fellow: Employer Events will maintain regular office hours and attend weekly team meetings.

General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

General Support:
Act as key event support for TC NEXT’s Employer Relations team, including coordinating and managing scheduling of meetings with employers and internal partners and document organization
Assist with both virtual and in-person support of employers, faculty, staff, students, and alumni visiting the TC NEXT space
Effectively represent TC NEXT to employer partners, TC departments, students, and alumni

Event Support:
Work with Associate Director of Employer Relations to plan and execute employer events, including logistics planning and execution, event set-up and liaising with the Manager of Systems and Operations for the technical side, document organization, and real-time event support
Work with the Systems and Operations Manager to review relevant event data and share it with the TC NEXT team
Create event promotional materials (flyers, social media post) for employer events
Coordinate with TC NEXT team and External Affairs to manage planning and execution of event promotional content

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a student matriculated in a TC degree program. Full-time TC employees are not eligible for this position.
Must be able to abide by the Student Confidential Agreement.
Must be able to abide by the Student Privacy Requirements.
A minimum commitment of Fall and Spring semester is required so that the administrative fellow can participate in, contribute to and benefit from a full cycle of student organization activities.
Excellent communication skills including good oral, written and telephone etiquette.
Experience with event planning
Knowledge and/or experience with social media and web-based communications
Strong team player with strong organizational skills, able to work with a diverse groups of staff and students and motivated by joining a growing department/team/offering
Able to multi-task, prioritize and work with little supervision
Self-starter, quick learner; strong problem solving, and critical thinking skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, Powerpoint) and Google Apps (Drive, Calendar, Sites)

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous related experiences or skills (e.g. event planning, alumni relations, leadership or involvement with TC community) in a similar position and/or transferable skills.
Experience with:
Zoom
Creative design software and Learning Management Systems (Adobe Photoshop, Canva, etc) desirable
12-month appointment; 2 year preferred
Professional interest in student affairs and/or adult/higher education preferred.
