Job Summary/Basic Function:
The research assistant will assist in the implementation of the project's research protocols, survey instruments, and coordination of the project's administrative tasks. The projects focus on race and educational leadership and generally comfortable working in diverse communities (e.g., those composing majority African American and Latino citizens).
Requires a master's degree in Education Leadership, Education, Psychology, or other related discipline and at least 1.5 years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.
Ability to multi-task, maintain attention to detail in a busy work environment, and work independently under minimal supervision.
Basic computer experience and experience working with Word, Excel, SPSS, Qualtrics, or other database applications
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including academics, practicing leaders, community members, as well as recipients of educational services and their families.
Ability to be dependable and responsive to reasonable requests to meet weekly and occasionally impromptu.
Conducting data collection at community research sites throughout New York City (e.g., screenings, structured interviews, data collection, researching articles, writing literature reviews and summaries, and all other related research tasks) when it is safe to do so. At present all of this work will be conducted via Zoom-60%
Conducting data entry, updating project databases (in Qualtrics & Excel), managing Zoom session recordings and transcripts within required timeframes, and assisting with preparation of reports and cleaning of data files including Zoom transcripts- 20%
Recruitment and follow-up of research participants, and scheduling research activities within required timeframes 15%
Assisting with tracking project expenses and completing reimbursements 5%
Completing necessary training and assisting in the submission of IRB research protocols 5% Completing other study-related tasks as assigned by supervisor 5%
