CCRC Office Assistant/Researcher New York
The Community College Research Center (CCRC) seeks an office assistant/researcher to support a variety of administrative and research functions at CCRC. The position requires initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills to meet the multiple needs of over sixty researchers, administrators, communication staff, and faculty members. The position is 15-20 hours per week and begins as soon as possible. Please apply through the TC application system and include a resume and cover letter. The letter should include information such as: why you want to work at CCRC, available hours to work (include fall class schedule if known), how many hours per week you can work, and your earliest start date. This position is in-person. CCRC is open: Mon-Fri 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (close at 1:00 p.m. on summer Fridays). The hourly salary is competitive. The Office of the Vice Dean for Research (VDR, is seeking a Teachers College student, to fill the position of Administrative Fellow. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Research, the Administrative Fellow will play a key role in researching, aggregating, and disseminating information related to VDR’s research mission. The incumbent will research external funding opportunities, using a variety of electronic resources, to find grants from federal agencies and foundations that can support TC faculty and student research, training, and mentorship. The incumbent will prepare information about funding opportunities for inclusion in the Research@TC newsletters, the Research@TC website, and in VDR’s discipline-specific listservs, and be instrumental in maintaining editorial and stylistic consistency, proofreading, and copyediting. The incumbent will have the opportunity to write and assist in arranging meetings, workshops, and networking events.

The ideal candidate is someone who is committed to furthering the activities and research goals of the Office of the VDR. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Research, the Administrative Fellow: Research Coordinator will play a key role in researching, aggregating, and disseminating information related to VDR’s research mission. The incumbent will research external funding opportunities that support faculty and student research, training, and mentorship. The incumbent will prepare information about funding opportunities for the Research@TC newsletters and Research@TC website. In addition, the incumbent will be instrumental in maintaining editorial and stylistic consistency, proofreading, and copyediting. The incumbent will have the opportunity to write short announcements and assist in arranging meetings, workshops, and networking events. Major Responsibilities: Assist the Assistant Director of Research (ADR) in researching funding opportunities from a variety of sources (databases, e-newsletters, and information forwarded by the VDR and members of RIIC) to support faculty and student research; assist in editing and disseminating the Research@TC newsletter and website; assist in managing VDR’s discipline-specific listservs; assist the ADR with managing internal faculty and student award programs; provide assistance in arranging meetings, workshops, and networking events; and support special projects and various administrative activities.
