The Painter (mechanic) derives authority from and reports to the Painter Foreman, Supervisor of Mechanical Maintenance, Assistant to the Director of Facilities and Director of Facilities. Receive work assignments from his immediate supervisor and carry them out in a professional manner• Responsible for seeing that work areas are properly protected, covered with deep cloths, plastic or other suitable material and clean up on a daily basis. • Make every effort to keep dust and debris down to the lowest level possible. • Avoid painting, locks receptacles etc. and question superiors re: any questionable situation or irregularity. • Observe all safety rules and regulations of the College, the State Insurance Fund and OSHA, paying particular attention to other persons in the area, proper ventilation, an the condition of ladders and scaffolding. • Clean all dirt and debris from the job site as possible, and leave the area broom-clean and dus• Two years experience or training in painting and related skills such as plastering, patching, staining, refinishing wood work, and cement work. • Knowledgeable of paint products and methods of application as well as products relating to surface preparation. • Able to lift up to 50 pounds without accommodation. • Able to move and climb ladders up to twenty-five feet in height.ted upon completion of the assignment. • Be responsive and supportive of the College Facilities' efforts to save energy and minimize waste.. 5 years experience in painter, plastering, patching and fine staining of wood work.
