As the director of TC's Consortium for Policy Research in Education (CPRE), I am interested in helping MA students who are seeking structured opportunities to develop the research skills needed to study educational inequality in urban school settings. CPRE currently has three large-scale projects in NYC schools (integrated special education classrooms; blended literacy; computational thinking), and the work study staffer would assist with at least two of these projects. The position would include substantial mentoring and support. Importantly for the student, there is the very real possibility that this work-study position could become a full-time staff position with CPRE upon completion of their MA.

Prof. Sabic-El-Rayess is currently working on 3+ initiatives where she needs logistical support and research assistance. Graduate Assistant (Leading with Evidence in Schools: Data and Research Literacy) New York
This position is the lead graduate student for assisting with logistics for the TC online Leading with Evidence in schools non-credit program: http://tc.columbia.edu/cps/evidence. The graduate assistant reports to Dr. Alex J Bowers, and helps deploy and manage the online course, as well as develop additional services around the Leading with Evidence online course, such as coordinating enrollments and marketing, deploying the Canvas site for the course, and leading scheduling and providing support around additional online videos and resources for the course. This work includes serving as an instructional assistant for each of the three sections of the course in an academic year, (November, March, July). There is a weekly on campus requirement, but also a large percentage of the time for this position is online and can be done off-site. The work will take about 20 hours per week. Academic Tech Fellow New York
Academic Tech Fellows (ATFs) are the primary educational technology support contact for faculty and instructional staff at Teachers College. It is our role to provide support, training, and facilitate usage of instructional technology and research tools. ATFs are expected to work 15 hours a week during the academic term, 10 of which are expected to be spent on campus providing support to instructional staff and training on academic platforms for the TC community.
